We’re fundraising for genome number 2

We’re still analysing Bonnag’s genome sequence and should have some results to share soon. In the meantime, we’ve received a blood sample from the owner of a kitten who had to be euthanised because of Manx syndrome. This kitten’s sad situation presents an opportunity for the project to analyze the genome of a cat affected with Manx Syndrome to see if there are any genetic aspects.

This kitten’s sad situation presents an opportunity for the project to analyze the genome of a cat affected with Manx Syndrome to investigate if there are any genetic aspects. For this reason, we’ve decided that the euthanised kitten should be our second cat to be sequenced.

If you would like to make a donation towards sequencing the kitten with Manx syndrome, please visit our donation page.

Sad as it is that they exist, I was hoping that this sort of specimen would be used, since understanding the disorder is so important.
